it takes a village
A different kind of childcare
Little Village Childcare exists because childcare shouldn't stop at the nursery door. Parents deserve sitters who bring the same structure, skill, and genuine engagement they'd expect from a nursery setting; sensory play, school-readiness activities, phonics practice, real support through toilet training. And sitters deserve more than somewhere to pick up hours - a genuine platform to grow, to be recognised for real skill, and to shape a career while shaping the little lives they care for.
That understanding comes from the top — built on a decade of hands-on nursery experience, including several years in management, so vetting here isn't guesswork borrowed from a template.
We started Little Village because we saw agencies that treated childcare like any other listing, post a profile, take a cut, step back. We wanted something different: an agency that stays involved, that knows its sitters personally, and that treats every family's trust as something to be earned, not assumed.
Raising children is hard, even on the easiest days and finding someone you trust to help shouldn't be another thing to worry about. That's why we don't just introduce you to a sitter and disappear. We're here to guide you: helping you work out what kind of care actually fits your family, matching you with sitters who suit your children specifically, and staying on hand if anything ever needs sorting out. No family should have to figure this out alone.
Every sitter we introduce goes through the same rigorous standard, every time. This isn't a marketplace where anyone can sign up — it's a carefully vetted village, built around the idea that good childcare happens when people actually care, not just when a checklist gets ticked.
